Unfortunately, the new source code is even more complex :), since I had to implement a MDI framework for Kosmos. And no extra documentation (other than the sparse one in the code), I just don't have the time to do it. This is one of the reasons I decided not to make the Kosmos a collaboration project - I released the source code to the public, but with no additional support attached. However is not easy for a beginner to understand the whole rendering structure, yet many OO concepts applied. So will you share us some design documentations?
